It's that time of year again. When we journalists try to take stock of the year with round-ups and hot takes about the most important cultural events. Well this list is no different. On PlayGround+, we have been brainstorming about the year's most influential songs. And to be honest, it has been quite difficult to choose just 18. Everything from Donald Glover's explosive song and video, 'This is America', to Ariana Grande's ultimate break-up song after her split from Pete Davidson, and lest we forget Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's numerous ballads for the smash hit remake of 'A Star is Born', it has been no easy feat to whittle our top picks down to under 20.
