Model or human?

Model or human? Model or human? Who the heck is Nyadak Ducki Thot and why does she look like she’s been taken out of a pink box from the toys section of the supermarket? The internet has been blown away by photos of this 21-year-old Australian-Sudanese model.

Nobody knew anything about this girl and former participant on the reality TV show, Australia's Next Top Model, until she shared photos on her social network and people instantly began comparing her face and body with those of the girl from Mattel.

In the image she posted on Twitter, the model is wearing a black and gold dress. The shape of her arms, the perfectly combed hair, the shockingly symmetrical face are strikingly similar to that of the Afro-American version of Barbie.

‘Wow, I literally thought you were Barbie’ or ‘That’s crazy! She looks like a Barbie’, are a just a couple of the responses she receives on a daily basis on her social networks.

Nyadak doesn’t seem bothered by the comparisons and, in fact, has been quick to join in on the joke, sharing this image of a Barbie with her hair in a mess.

Nyadak Ducky has also spoken out repeatedly about the bullying inflicted on people of dark skin and how this only encourages them to hide their natural characteristics.

'Being a black woman, we haven't really been taught how to take care of our natural hair - we've only been taught how to hide it. I think hair companies, the media, hairstylists, and the industry itself are to blame. They haven't made the same efforts to ensure black women are looked after in their most natural form. If you really think about it, it's the black women on YouTube who have really held it down with their natural hair tutorials.' she told the Teen Vogue website.
