She didn't hold back...She may not have won the crown, but Miss Texas was the true star of the Miss America beauty pageant on Sunday. Margana Wood, also known as Miss Texas, was beaten by her fellow contestant Cara Mund (Miss Dakota), but cleaned up during the question round of the competition with her bullet-to-the-chest remarks about Donald Trump. People and Entertainment Weekly’s editorial director, Jess Cagle, asked the Texan beauty contestant a tough and inquisitive question about the US president’s reaction to last month’s Charlottesville rally, which killed one person and left many others injured. He asked Wood: ‘Last month, a demonstration of neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and the KKK in Charlottesville, Virginia turned violent and a counter-protester was killed. The president said there was shared blame with, quote, ‘very fine people on both sides.' Were there? Tell me yes or no, and explain.’
Not shying away from a strong and assertive answer, she fired back: ‘I think that the white supremacist issue, it was very obvious, that it was a terrorist attack. And I think that President Donald Trump should've made a statement earlier addressing the fact, and in making sure all Americans feel safe in this country. That is the number one issue right now.’ The 22-year-old is a recent graduate of the University of Texas in Austin, where she studied corporate communications. But Wood will now be remembered as the badass beauty pageant contestant who publicly shamed The Donald and called out neo-Nazis for being terrorists. All hail.
